Hardware Development Engineer

ABOUT THE JOB

A great opportunity for an individual who is keen to contribute to the design of electronic hardware within new products and modifications of existing products in the RV, marine and industrial markets. These products must be designed to the required standards of operability, reliability, innovation, and cost as directed by the Product Development Programmes.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Applicants must be passionate about hardware engineering, enthusiastic and technically knowledgeable in electronics design. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work autonomously and as part of a team.

• COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication / presentation and strong interpersonal skills.

• PLANNING AND ORGANISING

Strong organisational and analytical skills are required, along with the ability to methodically plan and prioritise workload efficiently and effectively to maximise results through measurable plans.

• STRONG I.T. SKILLS

I.T. literate with strong working knowledge of MS Office suite as a minimum requirement.

• COLLABORATIVE

A strong team player with the ability to work in close collaboration with various stakeholders such as colleagues, external partners and/or customers to achieve goals.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Candidates should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) or above in electronic or electrical engineering discipline. The role will require someone who can work closely with various other functions (product, quality, marketing, purchasing and production) to develop and agree product specifications and then to ensure that these specifications are met in terms of performance, cost, timescales and reliability.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Candidates should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) or above in electronic or electrical engineering discipline.
• Experience of design & development projects is required together with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Display strong interpersonal skills.
• Be enthusiastic

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

Have a good working knowledge of at least one ECAD tool, preferably Altium Designer.

• Have a good working experience of new product development. 
• Be hands-on with good practical skills (i.e. multimeter, oscilloscope and other general lab tools).

• Have experience of circuit design and PCBA layout.
• Have a logical approach to problem solving.

• Have knowledge and experience of interaction of software and hardware, with the ability to read, write and understand basic code.

• Experience of working in a project environment.

• Experience of project management.

Assistant Accountant

ABOUT THE JOB

A position has arisen for an Assistant Accountant. The primary role of the job will involve timely and accurate completion of reporting and month end close including account reconciliations. Other administrative tasks will be applicable as and when required.

Administrator - Product Management

ABOUT THE JOB

We have a temporary opportunity for 6 months to work as part of the product management team providing administration support for the department.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Applicants must be self-motivated, well organised, analytical with a keen attention to detail and a desire to develop and implement best practices and strategic planning. The ability to work individually and as part of multi-discipline groups. The successful candidate will clearly exhibit the following competencies:  

  • ATTENTION TO DETAIL – well-organized and methodical approach even when working under pressure, taking due care to always ensure consistent and accurate information
  • EXCELLENT IT SKILLS – STRONG WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF MS EXCEL
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS - Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical ability, and an ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams
  • PLANNING AND ORGANISING - Strong organisational skills are required, along with the ability to methodically plan and prioritise workload efficiently and effectively to maximise results through measurable plans. 
  • STRONG ADMINISTRATION SKILLS – Strong administrator skills are required and able to work in fast paced environment

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

An enthusiastic and ambitious individual, who is commercially aware and will work in collaboration with multiple Whale and ASG internal stakeholder groups including Sales, Marketing, Production and Engineering.

  • Downloading and validating data from the ERP system
  • Measuring finished goods (dimensions and weight) and up-date system
  • Photographing products, packaging, labelling and cataloguing 
  • Confirming bar codes (GTIN) – matching with labels, database and ERP
  • Review product descriptions, standardise and up-date
  • Cataloguing related product information 
  • Support and populate databases
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested
REQUIREMENTS

  • Administration experience would be beneficial 
  • Strong working knowledge of MS excel including smart lookups and data validation
  • Good standard of education
  • Ability to work and communicate with a wide number of departments
  • Attention to detail with data entry and managing these systems
